Westminster is an amazing place. We are home to more than 200,000 residents from all backgrounds, over 50,000 vibrant and vital businesses and three-quarters-of-a-million people work in Westminster. Westminster City Council’s strategy is to work towards a Fairer Westminster. A Fairer Westminster is one in which our communities are at the heart of our decision-making and help to determine the city’s future. By working directly with our communities and other partners, we can build a more inclusive city that celebrates our diverse communities, and where residents, workers and visitors from all backgrounds will feel welcome and safe.
At Westminster City Council, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive workplace and employer of choice. We encourage and welcome applications from people from all backgrounds and aim to have a workforce that, at all levels, represents the communities we serve. We champion equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing and aim to create a workplace where everyone feels valued, has a sense of belonging and is empowered to be their best, that is the Westminster Way
Children’s Services
We have high ambitions for the children and young people in Westminster, and as such we have formed a bi-borough Children’s Services team with colleagues from the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. This allows us to share resources and expertise, providing the best support to Westminster’s children and access to a broad selection of services that we are committed to constantly improving.
The arrangement has also helped us achieve national recognition for the quality of our services to children including the most vulnerable. Our services are delivered through determined collective effort, with creativity, to ensure the best possible outcomes for children leading to productive and successful adult lives.

Adult Social Care provide support for people experiencing unplanned life events, ensuring appropriate care is in place for individuals and families.
We deliver services that empower individuals with care needs to live independently and alongside that, we support carers in their caring role.
Public Health deliver services that promote emotional wellbeing and physical health. Our services tackle health inequalities amongst our communities and are responsible for advising Public Health England, the NHS and the public.
Our directorate-wide aim is to support people’s independence and wellbeing, and to enable them to live in the community with as much dignity, choice and control as possible.
