“One of the best things about working in CASS for me is that I have learned so much from exposure to such a variety of cases. I also appreciate the access to the expertise you have in a unique environment where teams are co-located and you can speak to people immediately and build the kinds of relationships that really speed up the decision making process.”

Gemma, Social Worker
Children’s Advice and Support Service

“I returned to Birmingham after just nine months in another authority because as a team manager I wanted to work somewhere that the team I look after can benefit from really good learning and training opportunities and where there is a clear and focussed career pathway.”

Rina, Team Manager
Care Leavers Service

“I moved to Birmingham originally from Macclesfield to do my under-graduate studies, but because I love the city so much I decided to do my Masters placement here as well. On my placement I have had a lot of support and guidance from my practice educator. I have realised that I can have a lot of confidence in my decision making because there was always someone there to make sure I was doing the right thing.”
