Nottinghamshire County Council

"I moved to Nottinghamshire County Council 10 years ago from another local authority. I was attracted to work for the Council not only because of the job itself, but also because of the flexible and family friendly working arrangements that supported me as a parent.

Coming to Nottinghamshire as a manager, I’ve found a strong management structure in place here.  We have an inspiring Corporate Director and managers who put a real emphasis on supporting each other and working together. This is an ethos that is echoed right the way through the service.

We have significant political support for the work that we are doing for Nottinghamshire children and families. We’ve recently had investment of over £35m to strengthen our staffing and other infrastructure for the future.  Moving forward, we want the best people on board to meet the challenges ahead.

Nottinghamshire has the right balance – the County is a big geographical area, but it doesn’t feel big because people are so friendly, it’s a really nice place to work."
