Editorial guidelines

COMPASS, the annual guide to social work and social care is an annual publication with a circulation of 30,000 social work professionals from final year students to Directors of Children’s and Adults' Services. With this in mind, the skill level for any article should be relevant to practising, qualified social workers as a minimum. We include the opportunity to provide academic references where appropriate, though this isn’t a requirement. We aim to have content worthy of an academic journal in an accessible format.

The COMPASS editorial team are on hand to help any contributor with producing content. We can write up the editorial if we are provided with general copy or can interview for case studies. The editorial is set in the COMPASS style and should be provided as a word document not a PDF. All articles should include a call to action at the end, pointing the reader in a direction to find out more information about your organisation and the subject of the editorial. We also require any relevant details about the author of the article, including job title, organisation, and previous history if relevant. We will also need a high-resolution, head-and-shoulders picture of the author.
