CFT is a multi-disciplinary, international not-for-profit publishing and training organisation working to promote evidence-based assessments and interventions with children and families. CFT works with projects and organisations in Australia, Egypt, Ireland, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

CFT publishes evidence-based practitioner guides on assessment, analysis, planning and delivering interventions and evaluating outcomes for professionals (qualified and unqualified) working with children and young people and their families deliver training.

CFT’s Hope for Children and Families modular intervention programme, is based on gold standard research and practice experience of what works in intervention with children and families. The programme consists of a set of guides, each containing a step by step approach to intervention and a range of materials including work sheets for use in direct work with children and families. The resources are intended to empower practitioners, children, young people and their families when working together.

CFT was founded by Dr Arnon Bentovim, consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist and Liza Bingley Miller, social worker and family therapist who worked together at the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street, London. Fellow director and current chair of CFT is Stephen Pizzey, social worker, who was formerly the Head of the Social Work Department at the hospital .
