Devon is hard to beat, with stunning coastlines, countryside, high performing schools and vibrant communities. For all its virtues, all the challenges, problems, risk factors you have heard and worked with elsewhere, are here too.

We recognise we can't deliver our commitment on our own. By continuing to focus on working together with partners and developing better support at a local level, providing the early help many children and families and vulnerable adults need, we will see the positive outcomes we all strive to achieve.

We're actively investing in teams and providing greater support. We've been through big changes and are committed to becoming the best Local Authority in the country for social workers. Workforce culture, staff morale, status and recognition of social workers amongst partners we're seeing real, tangible improvements in these fundamental areas of social work. We understand practitioners are at the heart of everything we do and that without investing in you, we cannot improve the lives of the people who need us most.

Embarking on the next phase of our improvement journey we are crystal clear about what we've got to do and how we plan to do it. We want you to join us!
