Who we are?

Cheshire West and Chester is a council which is setting the pace and creating a blueprint for a whole new kind of local authority. As a council we have quickly established a reputation for doing things differently and breaking the mould. Selected in 2012 as one of Government’s four national pilots for community budgets, this authority is making everyone sit up and take notice as we are at the forefront of public service reform. Cheshire West and Chester is in a semi-rural setting with market villages and towns  rooted deep in industrial heritage with the historic City of Chester as the main hub of the council.

Where are we going?

As a Council we want Cheshire West and Chester to be the best place for children, young people and their families to grow up. We want children to be safe, develop well and through aspiration, reach their potential into adulthood. We want families to receive the best possible service and we strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for the children, young people and families we work with.

Why we want you?

An integral part of turning this vision into reality is recruiting passionate, motivated and committed Newly Qualified Social Workers, Experienced Social Workers and Team Managers to join our Service and work with us to ensure that our children and young people are healthy, happy, safe and supported to achieve their full potential.  If you choose to join us, you will be an important member of a close-knit and supportive team. We will invest in you and support you through Supervision and Reflective Practice, because we want our Social Workers in Cheshire West and Chester to feel they have a working environment where they are enabled to do the job, safe, supported and professionally challenged.

At Cheshire West and Chester we are committed to achieving a work life balance in this challenging and rewarding expertise of social work practice.
