Children and Young People Services

This directorate brings together all the health and social care services for children and young people and provides a unique opportunity to create services from pre-birth to adulthood that are based around the needs of children and their families.

The Senior Management team headed by Jacqui Gallienne, Director, together with Managers of the services and Heads of Profession are developing plans for the services and looking at ways of bringing together the wide range of professional expertise within the Directorate to be providing the best services possible.

We have agreed that we will be working within the aims of two significant developments in England, namely the National Service Framework for Children Young People and Maternity Services and “Every Child Matters” (Dfes/1090/2004). This document gives 5 very simple and clear aims that were given by children themselves of what they want in life:
