Here in Nottinghamshire we’ve made a promise to children and young people in care and are committed to improving the life outcomes of all the children and young people in the county. Ofsted have recently judged us to be GOOD in our provision of services to children and families – placing us in the top 25% of Local Authorities in the country.

Ofsted identified that our “social work practice is effective and well-managed, with good outcomes being achieved for children and young people” – and this achievement has come about as a result of the hard work, commitment, and dedication of our social care workforce, and those who support them.

As the 11th largest Local Authority, we still face significant challenges, but we are committed to supporting on-going investment in our services for children and young people and we continue to look at innovative ways of doing this, so that we’re able to provide a quality, consistent, and professional service to communities in Nottinghamshire.

OFSTED noted that “morale amongst social workers in Nottinghamshire is high” and this is a testament to the package that we offer, which includes:

- Manageable caseloads
- Regular and effective supervision
- Mobile working and improved work/life balance
- Good levels of business and admin support
- Internal transfer scheme between teams
- A comprehensive range of CPD options, including links to local Universities
- Practice Consultants based in every social work team
- Leadership & Management Development Programme
- Excellent benefits package, including a £9,000 retention offer for frontline teams

In addition, Nottinghamshire itself has a great deal to offer – with excellent shopping facilities, an extensive transport network, arts and entertainment outlets, and a wealth of leisure activities including a number of major sporting venues, our canals and waterways, Sherwood Forest, and an array of country parks & nature reserves, where you can relax, have fun, and get close to nature.

So why not consider a change? Seize this opportunity to put down some fresh roots and make a new start! You’ll find a warm welcome, and a rewarding career pathway – with an excellent CPD and employment benefits package.
