At UK Fostering we recognise that children give hope, purpose, joy and delight to their parents and carers. They have a basic need to be protected and nurtured, but it is a sad and undisputable fact that some children grow up under very different circumstances where fear, risk and deprivation are prevalent. UK Fostering is an independent fostering agency set up and managed by a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about changing the lives of these children.

We provide children and local authorities with fully trained, compassionate and competent foster care, when they need it most. We strive to have a strong and quality driven service, with a growing presence throughout the UK.

We ensure that we always act proactively, and recognise the need to consider in depth the individual circumstances of every family and child.

Our staff and foster carers provide high quality and innovative care for our children and young people. We aim to ensure every child can experience a safe, warm and caring family life which enhances and maximises their potential.

Fostering with UK Fostering

UK Fostering is focused on the needs of the children, and on achieving the best possible outcome for them. This could not be achieved without our dedicated team of foster carers. Our foster carers come from all walks of life but share a common goal of wanting the best for the children in their care. They have room in their homes and hearts to care for a child who needs them.

We offer a comprehensive package of fostering preparation, training and support to our foster carers. This is crucial to our success as a fostering agency and means we can offer the highest standard of care possible to the children entrusted to us. Issues, concerns and feedback can be communicated effectively whenever needed, and we can address these as quickly and efficiently as possible.

If you have a spare room in your home and spare time in your day, we want to talk to you. You don’t need specific experience or qualifications to become a foster carer, we provide full training and preparation, however our foster carers tell us the following attributes are all helpful:

A down-to-earth attitude and sense of humour.

Patience… and sometimes lots of it - it takes time to gain a young persons trust.

Caring and being able to listen and respond appropriately to children and young people.

Resilience - fostering requires commitment to both the children and to your own leaning and development. You can take a few knocks along the way but are able to keep moving forward.

Good communication – you will be working as part of a team and it is essential that you can share information appropriately, keep in contact and work well with others

An open mind - You never know what might happen next. But that’s OK, it might even be fun!
