Early Years - Senior Finance Officer

Salary: £29,517 - £31,998

We are looking to recruit one Senior Finance Officer to join our Early Years Team at this exciting time with the launch of new initiatives and new systems.

Applicants should be able to:

Demonstrate knowledge of current changes in the childcare sector.
Use Microsoft packages such as Word, Spreadsheets and outlook.
Demonstrate knowledge of using systems such as Tribal Synergy to administer payment to childcare providers for the Early Education Funding (Training will be provided)
Complete the annual statutory Early Years Census (Training will be provided)
Work with the Business & Administration Team Manager to maintain financial systems that facilitate the effective accurate functioning of the Early Years’ Service.
Oversee ordering and invoice processes - using the finance systems.
Attend meetings, supervision and training as required.
Maintain records and database

About the Job
We have an opportunity for a Senior Finance Officer to join us in the Early Years Team within Achieving for Children.
•Provide day-to-day financial/accounting processes and systems to the Early Years Service.
•Undertake a range of financial reconciliations.
•Ensure that financial/manual records in Early Years are accurate and compliant with financial regulations.
•Undertake grant and statistical return paperwork to various bodies such as the Department for Education or local authority finance teams.
•Lead on tasks required as part of the annual financial cycle; i.e. budget preparation, budget monitoring, and closedown for the Early Years Service.
•Support the Business & Administration Team Manager in their financial work as directed.

About You
You must be able to work confidently and accurately with numerical data and have the ability to analyse data with a view to drawing logical and accurate conclusions. You must also have the ability to deal with managers of private sector nurseries and other stakeholders.

In addition we are looking for someone who has excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise their work load.

Due to this post having access to children’s data, candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Baring Service Check.
