I have worked for Stockton Local Authority since 2002 and I am currently working as a Children’s Social Worker in a long term Fieldwork Team. The daily tasks are both challenging and rewarding, however the teams are very supportive and there is ample time for reflection. Stockton offers a variety of benefits to its employees. There are opportunities for progression and retention is regularly reviewed. The North East of England offers a lower cost of living in comparison to other parts of the country, with significantly lower house prices. There are good transport links to cities such as Durham, Newcastle and York, which offer excellent shopping, bars and restaurants.
