“The transition from student to social worker can be a worrying time, as you feel you no longer have a ‘safety net’ around you. My concerns were soon put at ease as the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) at South Tyneside provides the newly qualified practitioner with the support they need while promoting development. I am now two years post qualified and would never think of working anywhere else. Practicing as a social worker is rewarding; it is at times stressful, but living in the North East and working in South Tyneside makes all the difference.”
