Warrington Borough Council is committed to improving the support we provide for children, young people and their families and has a reputation for delivering innovative, good quality services. We put children and their families at the heart of our thinking, planning, and delivery.

Driven by our vision and ambition for children to achieve the best quality of life, we are embarking on a range of new developments including a redesign of our social work services, implementation of the MASH and new edge of care service. We are looking for experienced or newly qualified Social Workers to join our talented and committed Assessment & Intervention Service and Safeguarding Service.

Our recent Ofsted Inspection has highlighted many areas of good practice and some areas for development. We would like to invite you to be a part of our journey of improvement to vulnerable children and families.

Locally and nationally Warrington enjoys a strong reputation and we have a track record of innovation and best practice. The ‘Centre for Cities’ report in January 2015 established that Warrington is currently number one for employment and continues to demonstrate a strong performance amongst cities within the North West. In addition, the Council offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive employee benefits package including:
