For the North West Social Work Show

The conference timetable for the North West Social Work Show 2018 has now been released, with over 30 seminars, workshops and films at the Hilton Deansgate, Manchester on 21st May. 

The conference will provide a full day of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) with sessions on the latest practice in children’s social work, adult social care and mental health.

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) will also be hosting a seminar at the event regarding CPD and what to do if you have been selected for audit, as well as planned changes to the regulation of social workers in England.

The different sessions throughout the day will cater for all services in the sector, the sessions on the day include:

- A pathway for social work with older people: The Capabilities Statement and CPD – the British Association of Social Workers

- How can local authorities and social work staff improve their response to child trafficking?  - Barnardo’s and ECPAT UK

- The HCPC’s approach to Continuing Professional Development – HCPC

- Getting your head around the Mental Health Act – Open University

- How to Start and Grow an Independent Social Work Practice - Joe Z Mairura, Imara Development Programmes
